TSG Hoffenheim are likely to completely rebuild their frontline this summer, Kicker reports.

So far, Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side have scored an impressive 45 goals this season, placing them 7th in the total goalscoring charts. However, with Maximilian Beier and Wout Weghorst will likely move elsewhere, Hoffenheim will be forced into a total rebuild ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Beier (21) will bring in at least €30m due to a release clause. The youngster is having a brilliant season, having scored 13 goals, and is currently being monitored by some of Europe’s top clubs, such as Bayer Leverkusen as well as national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

In the case of Weghorst, the Dutchman is currently on loan at TSG from Premier League side Burnley, however, there is no option to buy within the deal. Vincent Kompany’s side are one of the favourites to be relegated from England’s top flight which would put TSG in a good place to secure a permanent deal.

However, it’s unlikely that TSG would spend around €6-€7m on a 32-year-old striker. This would go against the current transfer plans in place at the club.

So who are Hoffenheim looking to invest in?

One name of the list is Mainz 05’s Jonathan Burkardt. Regardless of whether Mainz stay in the Bundesliga or not, TSG are confident a deal is there to be made. The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries this season but should still fetch around €15-€20m.

Another name is Romanian international Denis Drăguș. The 24-year-old forward currently plays for Süper Lig club Gaziantep, on loan from Belgian Pro League side Standard Liège. Currently on 11 goals for the season, the striker is making great progress in Turkey. According to the Romanian sports magazine Gazeta Sporturilor, TSG had previously made an offer to Liège.
