The Real Madrid team for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League next week against Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu almost chooses. Ten of the 11 are already guaranteed, pending injury, but Carlo Ancelotti is stuck on the only remaining decision: who will partner Antonio Rudiger in the center of the defense.

It won't be Eder Militao, with the Brazil international needing to get up to speed before being considered for a start – the return leg in Manchester is much more of a possibility for him. Ace for AS DiaryThe choice Ancelotti has is to choose Nacho Fernandez or Aurelien Tchouameni.

Nacho has been a regular starter for Ancelotti since David Alaba tore his ACL in December, but his performances in recent months have not inspired. In comparison, Tchouameni has impressed in a deeper role, despite being a natural midfielder. If he starts, Eduardo Camavinga will play instead in the center of the park.

There is no doubt that Tchouameni is the best footballer, and he has certainly been better than Nacho in recent months, even in the center of defense. Ancelotti must decide if it is better to remove his influence from the Real Madrid midfield for next week's match.
