Abendzeitung reports that if Bayern Munich lose to Arsenal, then Thomas Tuchel may be relived of his duties and Miroslav Klose could be brought in as interim head coach.
After Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Heidenheim, things are approaching crisis status at Bayern. With that loss, in their past eight Bundesliga games, Bayern have only won three times against RB Leipzig, thanks to a late Harry Kane goal as well as relegation-fighting Mainz and Darmstadt.
This run of results allowed Bayer Leverkusen to create a 16-point lead at the top of the table, meaning the Champions League is the last meaningful thing for Bayern left in this season.
However, they face current Premier League leaders Arsenal in London on Tuesday and a loss a the Emirates will put qualification into the semi-finals in serious jeopardy. If Bayern do falter in the Champions League, Tuchel is unlikely to stay on as head coach.
There is a possibility within the club that former striker Klose will become Bayern’s interim coach for the remainder of the season with former long-term Bayern coach Hermann Gerland as his assistant coach. This scenario is only considered if the situation becomes a total disaster.
