Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko could leave the club if his current playing situation does not change.
Moukoko is interested in leaving Dortmund permanently, preferable to a team that plays in European competition but Dortmund would only be interested in loaning out the 19-year-old. However, the future of Moukoko also depends on who is the coach of Dortmund next season. If Edin Terzic remains head coach then the 19-year-old has little chance of breaking back into the first team.
Despite a strong season, last year, Moukoko has been demoted to third-choice striker at Dortmund behind Niclas Füllkrug and Sebastien Haller. This has seen most of the 19-year-old’s appearances coming off the bench with little time remaining in the game, this has meant he has struggled to be able to impact them in any way.
This is becoming a common occurrence under Terzic in not playing youth players more often. Not only Moukoko but Jamie-Bynoe Gittens has also been demoted by Terziz despite when being used producing good performances.
