Real Betis is in a crisis situation at the moment, having lost its last four games (against Atletico Madrid, Villarreal, Rayo Vallecano and Girona). It saw them drop to eighth in the League table, and two points outside the European places. However, they have eight games to change their fortunes for next season.

During that run, pressure built on head coach Manuel Pellegrini, to the point where some suggested he could leave Betis. However, the Chilean removed this possibility, and stated on Thursday that he is focused on returning things to the Benito Villamarin, as per MD.

“The club must show seriousness to face the trials. We have been fighting for important things for almost four years. If you lose three or four games, you cannot throw away the trials. Playing badly, like against Rayo Vallecano, it is normal to lose a match. But as it happens with all teams. Internally, we are safe. I am focused on Celta, to finish the season in the best possible way and focused on the next season.

Pellegrini also denied reports that he was in Rome last weekend to watch of Rome victory over city rivals Lazio – has been linked with the former manager's position, which should be vacant in the summer.

“I didn't go to any game, I traveled personally and with my family from one day to another. I don't know where this news comes from. I am very comfortable The Real BetisI would like to fulfill my contracts and I am happy here.”
