Mallorca's Javier Aguirre on the future and Real Madrid clash – “The Cup was a dessert, the League is the main course”
Manager RCD Mallorca Javier Aguirre remained coy about his future after his side's Copa del Rey final agony on penalties at Athletic Club. There is little respite for the Bermellones this weekend as Real Madrid visit.
Carlo Ancelotti has said his squad will not make any major rotations for the clash, with many already looking forward to their Champions League return against Manchester City. Aguirre explained that Mallorca could not have had anyone better.
“We couldn't have had a better opponent because we can't keep lamenting what could have been and wasn't, we can't keep thinking about something that already happened and we can't keep thinking about it, that night. it was very cruel and very hard for everyone and now it has been put on hold, this week we worked well to try to clear our heads, although it is more difficult for some than others, of course, but we are physically and mentally well, and we are ready and it will be a great challenge for us.”
“I told my agent that I don't want to know anything or hear about it for the moment, I have a commitment in Majorca until June 30 and my priority is Majorca, but for the moment I asked him to deal with whatever. he's going to deal with it.”

Aguirre asked his side to be organized and show personality, as told by AS Diary.
“Here we beat them last season and they beat us here, it's difficult to take the ball away from Madrid, it's difficult to put pressure on them, and it's difficult to play against them one-on-one, it's very complicated, the best way to face it is to be organized and have a personality with very clear ideas and do not fail when you have the opportunity, I will not discover anything new if I say that they are better and favored, but in our stage. with our people and their support, with the team connected as it has been in recent weeks, I have hope and faith that something good can come out of the game.”
The Mexican manager was also very clear that La Liga was his main goal this season, and although it was a pleasure to enjoy the Copa del Rey, his team must refocus.
Mallorca fans printed 5,000 Abdon Prats masks for their clash with Real Madrid.

“In my social networks, yesterday in the pharmacy they congratulated me, and it was a reward, not a punishment, it is the final of the Cup, in this chamber there are many relegations and this is something that should be angry, a Cup . the final is fun and that's what people tell me, friends, colleagues from other teams, and this is football, it's wonderful to reach the final and for Mallorca. It's something that doesn't happen every year and I said, it was like a dessert and now we focus on food, in the main menu, which is the first division.
Mallorca ahead Abdon Prats he did not go during the final, something that Aguirre apologized for him, and created a lot of displeasure, both in his face and among the Mallorcan fanbase. With Abdon's permission, one of the fan groups decided to print 5,000 Abdon masks to show their support for him, although he claimed that he was not shooting Aguirre.
