Arne Slot has Feyenoord playing like a Pep Guardiola team and has a similar personality to Jurgen Klopp.
Incoming Liverpool manager Arne Slot has similar traits to Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.
This is the opinion of Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan, who has praised the Feyenoord boss for what he has done in Holland.
talkSPORT understands that Slot is prepared to replace Klopp at Anfield after winning the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup with the Rotterdam team.
And Van der Kraan has waxed lyrical about the 45-year-old's fluid attacking style of play, which has inspired him in Guardiola and Johan Cruyff.
Speaking on talkSPORT's Trans Europe Express programme, he said: “I was a big football fan in the 1970s, I was a big football fan. Johan Cruyff fan.
“I loved our 1974 World Cup team, that was 'Total Football', I think it was probably the craziest offensive team of the last century.
“There began our great years in Dutch football. Johan Cruyff later took over as coach, he infected other students. Ronald KoemanPep Guardiola.
“Pep went even further than Cruyff would have imagined. Slot watches all his games, studies them every week.
“When Jose Mourinho discovered that all he looks at is Pep Guardiola, he ranted at him after the Roma In the game where Feyenoord was defeated in the last minute (of the 2022 Europa Conference League final), he shouted at him in the tunnel.
“He told me: 'Go watch Pep Guardiola, don't watch my games because you could win something if you watch my games.'
“Arne is a true lover of good attacking football, and what he has done so far in Holland is play exactly like Pep does, like Cruyff used to do in Ajax and Barcelona.
“And that's why what he's done so far in Holland has been brilliant.”
Van der Kraan then compared Slot to Klopp in terms of his personality, who is able to inspire his team through passionate team conversations.
He commented: “One of the best things about him personality-wise is that he has a great command of the English language.
“He trains in English, he gives all his pep talks in English, from the day he arrived at Feyenoord, he says: 'OK guys, I'm speaking English, that's the language in the dressing room we have for you foreigners.' And also to all the Dutch boys: everything is English here.'
“And his pep talks, you can even see in one of the documentaries they've done at Disney, is how he encourages his side with great pep talks, all in English.
“And I think those kinds of things give you an advantage when you come into your new club, and I think people will see, with all due respect, that it's not like with Erik ten HagKoeman or (Louis) van Gaal.
“Van Gaal (knew very little) the English language, Arne will speak absolutely fluently in all his press conferences.
“He is very happy, he looks a lot like Jurgen Klopp in fact.”
