Midfielder of Celta Vigo Williot Swedberg he hasn't had the easiest of times since arriving in Spain, but he still has admirers in Europe. The 20-year-old was a one-time target for Ajax before his move to Galicia, and the Dutch giants are again considering a move for him.
Decisions are starting to be made Celtic, although they are keen to seal survival as soon as possible, with a gap of five points at Cadiz and five games to go. Manager Claudio Giraldez and Sporting Director Marco Garces know that sales are likely to be needed in the summer.
Midfielder Renato Tapia is the only player out of contract, and Relief say talks have cooled off late, meanwhile Swedberg could be a potential entry route. Arriving for €5.5 million two seasons ago from Hammarby in his native Sweden, Swedberg has featured in just 654 minutes on 17 occasions this season. Giraldez has used it more frequently, and he averages a goal every 57 minutes in La Liga – he has four.
For his part, Swedberg is not looking to leave Balaidos. He does not feel he has had the opportunity to show his best form, despite being aware of the interest of Ajax, who are trying to rebuild after a disastrous season.
Celta may open the door for him if the offer is good enough, but given Giraldez's work so far, it could be tempting to hang on even from a financial perspective. If Swedberg starts to flourish, and extract his talent, then he could become much more valuable in a short time.
