How Taylor Swift could help Ollie Watkins be named Premier League Player of the Season! Aston Villa star’s girlfriend backs hilarious campaign to win him the support of Swifties
Ollie Watkins‘ girlfriend has tried to get the support of fans of pop superstar Taylor Swift after the Aston Villa striker was nominated for the Premier League player of the season award.
Watkins has enjoyed a tremendous campaign for Villa which has encompassed him scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists in 35 Premier League appearances.
A Villa supporter on X, who is also a fan of Swift, attempted to get followers of the singer to vote for Watkins.
The tweet read: ‘heeey swifties! ollie watkins: „i’m a huge swiftie, i listen to her new album #TTPD every morning!”

Villa appear on track to qualify for the Champions League – they are in fourth place and are currently seven points ahead of Tottenham, although Ange Postecoglou’s side do have a game in hand.
Watkins faces much competition from other Premier League stars for the player of the season award.
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, who have both been hugely impressive for Manchester City, have been nominated for the award. Haaland won the award last season.
Arsenal pair Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice are also in contention for the prestigious prize.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has been nominated for his fantastic season, with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak also in contention.
This isn’t the first time that Swift’s fans have potentially been involved in voting for a football award.
Swifties previously hijacked voting for the Golden Boy Web award in favour of Jude Bellingham
That came after Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde, who was also up for the award, admitted that he doesn’t like Swift’s music.
Balde had been leading the voting until Swift’s fans intervened, with Bellingham’s vote share then going from 30 per cent to 89 per cent.
Bellingham ended up winning the Golden Boy Web award and also won the Golden Boy award itself.
