Cole Palmer disagrees with Reece James' opinion during live TV interview after Chelsea win

Reece James called Cole Palmer one of the best players in the world, but the Chelsea star wasn't so sure.

Palmer picked up another assist as his debut season with the Blues continues to get better and better.

He had a helping hand in 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The 22-year-old now has 21 goals and ten assists in the Premier League this season following his transfer from Man City.

Palmer has undoubtedly been one of the signings of the season and is in contention for a multitude of awards, including player and young player of the year.

He even came close to Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot, before the City striker scored four against Wolves.

Blues captain James praised his team-mate after the win over Forest.

“I personally think Cole is one of the best in the world,” James said.

“You've seen what he can do when he gets the chance. At Manchester City he probably didn't play as much as he wanted to. He came here and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.”

Palmer was a little taken aback by those comments and responded: “I wouldn't go that far, but it's obviously nice to hear.

“I'm just trying to keep my feet on the ground, taking it as it comes. It's all new to me, you know, my first season playing properly in the league.

“But coming to Chelsea and being with a group of guys who have welcomed me like that has been a pleasure.”

The victory over Forest put the Blues level on points with sixth-placed Newcastle, with 57 points.

In their last two games they will play against Brighton and then against Bournemouth.
