Sevilla look to be trying to strengthen their squad again this summer as sporting director Victor Orta looks to get younger on a budget. One of their targets could be Fabio Silva, who spent the season on loan at Rangers from Wolves.
Silva, 21, joined Wolves for €40m from Porto in 2020 but has struggled to make an impact during his four years in the Midlands, although three were spent on loan at Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and now Rangers. It's unlikely the Wolves will use him next season either, and so they'll try to move on.
According to Caught offside, Milan and Seville are two of the sides interested in Silva, with Wolves asking for just over 23 million euros for the Portuguese. Silva has played 33 times this season, racking up 1,766 minutes, but has managed just six goals in that time. Only 16 of those games were even started.
If Sevilla go for him, it is difficult to see that it is anything other than a loan agreement again, for a player who has two years of his contract. Orta is unlikely to spend even €5m on a player this summer unless they feel the player in question is a sure thing, and Silva has shown he is far from that.
