“I'm very good, confident and available for the final. I'm doing my part and the coach knows me very well,” explained Eder Militao after Real Madrid's impressive win over Alaves. While it looks like Thibaut Courtois will be back in the starting eleven for the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, things are much more difficult for the Brazilian.

Military has started Real Madrid's last four league games, as indicated by AS Diary, and Carlo Ancelotti will also start him in the remaining two, his only chance to convince the Italian that he should be back at Wembley. Los Blancos face Villarreal this weekend, which will see major rotations, but Militao will keep his place.

He faces an uphill battle to keep his place against Dortmund. Nacho Fernandez, who has been the subject of doubt all season by Carlo Ancelotti, with Aurelien Tchouameni often used in front of him at points. However, after three strong performances against Manchester City and Bayern Munich, he is now very much the favorite of partner Antonio Rudiger as things stand.

It could also be Nacho's last game for Real Madrid, with doubts over whether he will continue at the club. Militao showed some natural signs of rust in the four league games he played, but gradually improved. Even so, in his last two games against Granada and Alaves, he was not tested much. Villarreal should be a much sterner test, with the Yellow Submarine still possessing an outside chance of European football.
