Real Betis have preliminary discussions with Tottenham Hotspur over the deal for the 28-year-old playmaker
Real Betis are set to have a very busy summer transfer window, and a key deal they hope to make involves the sale of Nabil Fekir, who has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia in recent months. If a financially acceptable deal can be agreed, Los Verdiblancos would then move to re-sign Giovani Lo Celso.
Lo Celso enjoyed an excellent 2018-19 season at Betis, and was signed permanently from Paris Saint-Germain before being immediately sold to Tottenham Hotspur for a significant profit. Five years later, the two clubs will again discuss an agreement – but for Lo Celso to go the other way.
Ace for Brand, Betis officials had preliminary discussions with Spurs, in which they sought to know his availability and asking price. The expectation is that the Argentine playmaker will be allowed to leave, and given that his current contract ends in 2025, he should be available for a reduced fee.
The Real Betis are desperate to re-sign Lo Celso, and if the funds from the sale of Fekir can be used in negotiations with Spurs, the better.
