Why Chelsea star Cole Palmer proudly displays the Saint Kitts and Nevis flag on his boots
Cole Palmer is expected to be England's breakout star at Euro 2024 this summer, but another country is also close to his heart.
He 22 years old has become one of the best players in the Premier League since he changed his childhood club, Manchester City, for Chelsea.
Palmer's 22 goals in the Premier League equaled Chelsea legend Frank Lampard's best scoring season for the blues.
His scoring heroics prompted him to Gareth SouthgateHe is in the 33-man squad for Euro 2024 and is expected to be on the shortlist heading to Germany.
Palmer only received a call-up to the senior England team in November 2023, where Vybz Kartel asked him about a viral video of him rapping with Clarks.
The attacking midfielder's boots can be seen hanging in the air, sporting the England flag amid his appearances for his youth teams.
In addition, the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis also appears in a tribute to his father, whose family is from the Caribbean country.
speaking to The players' tribune On how his father used to help him practice ball control, he revealed: “He used to say, 'There's no point in trying to shoot if you can't hold the ball in the first place.'
“We would do that every day no matter the weather, and my dad's family is from St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean. He hates going out in the cold. But he would do it for me anyway.
“That's why I put the St Kitts flag on my boots, as a little tribute to him and his family.”

Palmer referred to the video her sister posted on TikTok when speaking to the media: “My sister and I were at home one day and there was a trend on TikTok.
“People were signing songs and stuff and my sister said, 'Come and sing this song.' So I thought, 'All right, honey, I'll do it.'
“Since my boots have the St. Kitts flag and the flag of England, my sister wanted to make sure the St. Kitts flag went in.
“She posted it and was silent for a while to be fair and then one day I saw it everywhere and now I can't stop seeing it.”

Palmer grew up in Wythenshawe in south Manchester, but his paternal grandfather, Sterry Cole, was the man who left St. Kitts and Nevis in 1960 for a new life in England.
Palmer's rise to fame has made him a hero in his family's homeland, with his father Jermaine revealing the country is now a huge Chelsea fan.
He said The Telegraph: “I went for the first time in January and it was great.
“I talked to my dad's cousins who are still there and they said the island is going crazy for Cole.
“So when he goes himself he'll probably need a police escort! Now everyone is a Chelsea fan!
