Matteo Moretto Transfer Column: Kingsley Coman, Bruno Fernandes, Nicolo Zaniolo and Robin Le Normand
Matteo Moretto gives Football España exclusive information on the latest business dominating the newspapers in Spain, as revealed in Daily Briefing by Fabrizio Romano.
While talks are ongoing between Villarreal and Galatasaray for Nicolas Zaniolo, his preference is to return to Italy if possible. Some time ago, it was said that Napoli was interested in him, I think that at the moment, Napoli has some goals in their list, but they have to talk with his new manager, Antonio Conte. I know that Conte likes the idea of signing Alessandro Buongiorno, but the rest, we have to wait and see what the former manager of Italy thinks of them.
He has to evaluate all the options he has, however, he has to find a team, a place to show his talents and increase his stock again, in a place where he can play with continuity.
There is an ongoing discussion between Villarreal and the Zaniolo camp, and between Villarreal and Galatasaray, and they have to find the right formula. It will be a loan for sure, it remains to be seen if it will be an option to buy, or if it will be mandatory, probably somewhere in the region of 15 million euros.
On Monday, Diario AS published that Cesar Azpilicueta was very linked with a meeting with Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce – as things stand, I have no information on this case. Elsewhere, Nayef Aguerd has been linked with Atletico by Alan Nixon.
We know that Los Rojiblancos will try to improve their defense, and they are looking to bring in one or two defenders, and they are looking for the right options. Now I am in conversation with Robin Le Normand, and it will come down to whether they can reach an agreement with Real Sociedade, as the most difficult part will be the agreement between the clubs. There is a negotiation to take place, and we will see if Atletico and Real Sociedad can make an agreement for the Spanish international.
Now here are all the players who were at Bayern Munich during Hansi Flick's time be linked to Barcelona. I would say that Barcelona and Xavi above all, not just the sports commission, like Joshua Kimmich. I think the Sports Commission will continue to be careful to sign Kimmich, but it remains to be seen what will happen between Kimmich and Bayern because he has a contract until 2025.
He could be a useful player for Barcelona if he decides to leave Bayern in the end, then, we know that Barcelona have many players up front whose situations need to be resolved before bringing anyone. Joao Felix must be resolved, and one or more exits will have to happen before there is talk of Barcelona making a move for someone up front.
From my point of view, due to economic factors, it is difficult to see such a player moving to Barcelona. The Blaugrana have their targets, but because of their salary cap situation, and because of the economics of any such deal, it's hard to see. Bruno Fernandes moves to Barcelona.
As things stand, the information I have is that Barcelona are not looking for a player who operates in the same role as him, that is to say a central attacking presence behind the striker, and they are concentrating on other priorities currently.
