Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has admitted he would join Corinthians “tomorrow” if given the chance.
Gabriel has formed possibly the most solid center back pairing in the Premier League with William Saliba in Arsenal.
With the Gunners conceding 29 goals in 38 games this season, the Brazilian has become a fan favorite at the Emirates.
However, the 26-year-old has admitted there may be a club he loves even more than Arsenal.
In an interview with YouTube channel Cartolucos, he said: “Corinthians has been there since I was born.
“And today I don't think it should be any different. I still go to the Corinthians game by train.
“It's my dream, I want to play for Corinthians, I want to feel that energy.
“It's something to think about. Sometimes I stop and think: 'Do you dream of playing for Corinthians?'
“For me, tomorrow I would be at Corinthians. I want, as soon as possible, to feel the energy of that crowd, which is incredible.”
Gabriel's love for Corinthians is no secret and he has even been seen traveling with fans to attend matches.
Corinthians is one of the largest teams in South America, based in Sao Paulo, where Gabriel was born and raised.
While there are no immediate signs of Gabriel leaving Arsenal this summer, speculation over his future is nothing new.
Last year there was interest in the services of the Saudi Arabian defender and this led to Mikel Arteta leaving Gabriel out of his starting eleven at the beginning of the season.
The Brazilian international has a contract with the Gunners until the summer of 2027, after arriving from Lille in 2020 for around £27 million.
In his homeland, Gabriel rose in Avai, in southern Brazil.
The centre-back considered quitting while he was there and returned to Sao Paulo after becoming homesick before changing his mind and landing a professional contract at age 16.
