West Ham show interest in Juventus youngster Matías Soule

western ham United have expressed “specific interest” in signing Juventus winger Matías Soulé this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 21-year-old was on loan at Frosinone from Juventus last season and was one of the bright lights of Canarini's relegation campaign last season. He contributed 14 goals in just his first full season in the top flight and his performances have sparked much interest from clubs across Europe.

According RomanWest Ham are “showing concrete interest” in the youngster as they step up their efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

Roman reports that the Hammers have been monitoring the Argentinian's progress in Serie A last season and there is a possibility of the South American leaving this summer.

Soulé has a contract with the 36-time Italian champions until 2026 with a valuation of €25 (£21m) according to Transfer market. The price could prove to be a bargain for the Hammers if they beat off competition from other interested clubs to secure the signing of the highly regarded Argentina under-23 international.

West Ham are preparing for a new start in life under new manager Julen Lopetegui and plans have already begun to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

They have already reached an agreement to sign Brazilian gem Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras and moves are underway to secure other targets. The east London club has set its sights on one of South America's brightest prospects, Soulé.

The youngster was one of the best wingers in the Italian top flight last season and consistently wowed the crowd with brilliant performances on the right flank.

Argentinian by birth and Italian by citizenship, Soulé's skills are characterized by his dribbling ability, but it goes beyond that: the 21-year-old is creative and has an eye for defense-splitting passes.

West Ham already have Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen at right wing, and it will be interesting to see how Lopetegui will utilize the youngster if he ends up moving to the London Stadium.
