Friedkin emerged as one of the favorites to buy the club after a late surge of interest.

Lifelong Everton fans AJ Bell and George Downing were among the potential buyersand the £900million duo were previously hopeful their offer would be accepted.

Bell and Downing had already lent the candies £50m of their own money to help with cash flow problems during the Unfortunate acquisition attempt by 777 Partners.

Moshiri was tied to a period of exclusivity with the troubled 777 until May 31, preventing them from entering into talks with other interested parties.

But that deal ended on May 31, when the Merseyside club confirmed in a statement that they were now assessing “all options for the future ownership of the club.”

In the statement, Everton thanked 777 for their “considerable financial support” since they began talks to buy the club in September, having provided the Toffees with several loans totaling around £200m to help manage operating costs.

Toffees fans will be hoping the takeover can be completed as soon as possible before the summer, particularly as interest in their star men increases.

talkSPORT understands Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite over a move, with only a transfer fee to be agreed.
