'Where he belongs': Peter Schmeichel mentions the transfer he wants his son Kasper to make

Peter Schmeichel has admitted he would love to see his son Kasper return to the Premier League.

Denmark's number one spent most of his playing career in England, including winning the title during his 11 years with city ​​of leicesterbefore leaving in 2022.

After a year with Nice, Schmeichel now plays for Anderlecht, who finished runners-up in the Belgian Pro League.

He may be 37 now, but Schmeichel shows few signs of slowing down and, speaking on talkSPORT, his father revealed his hopes for his son.

Speaking about White and Jordan, the Man United legend said: “I'm looking forward to seeing him back in the Premier League. I think that's where he belongs.

“Hopefully these euros will remind people because I would love to see him there again.

“Even though you try to put some emotional distance between yourself and football, I still want it there because I'm so used to it.”

On the international scene, Schmeichel is by far Denmark's number one, having surpassed the 100 caps mark in the run-up to Euro 2024.

With Denmark hoping to advance to the latter stages of the tournament, Peter said of Kasper: “I'm very proud.

“It's very strange because when you retire from football you want to put some emotional distance between yourself and the game. I've never had that opportunity!
