Real Betis transfer update: Marc Roca, William Carvalho and two defenders on the way?

The Real Betis are set for a busy summer, with many turnovers coming in again. This season, Manuel Pellegrini hopes his defense will be strengthened rather than weakened ahead of the new campaign.

In the face of this defense, Relief say Betis are close to a deal with Leeds United for just under €5 million for midfielder Marc Roca, who impressed last season. Alongside him, William Carvalho will again be a candidate to leave the club, and has a release clause of just €2 million this summer. That clause expires on July 15 though, and while he was close to leaving for Al-Nassr last summer, Carvalho has no destination on the immediate horizon.

With Abner Vinicius, Juan Miranda, Chadi Riad and Sokratis on their way out at the back, Pellegrini will need significant reinforcements. Former Toulouse defender Moussa Diarra can play in central defense and at left-back, and AS Diary they say that it is a goal, but it faces the competition of Olympique Marseille. Southampton defender Romain Perraud appears to be a little further ahead, and is expected to sign in the coming days. His deal will be worth around 3.5 million euros, according to the same source.
