Bayern Munich have today activated their €1.5m buyback option on Armindo Sieb, before sending the German forward on loan to fellow Bundesliga side Mainz for two years until 2026.
Sieb joined 2. Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth in July 2022 for just €50k and played 66 games across all competitions for the Kleeblätter, scoring 17 and creating four goals. Enjoying a breakout campaign last year, Sieb scored 12 and created three in 33 goals for Greuther Fürth in the second division, prompting Bayern to re-sign the German youth international.
“We’ve been closely following Armindo over his two years in Fürth. He’s progressed very well, especially the last season. He was among the best players in his age group for goal involvements in the second division in 2023/24,” said Christoph Freund, Bayern’s Sporting Director. “Armindo is an extremely quick and aggressive player. He’s a very good fit for Mainz with his style, and the Bundesliga is now the next logical step for him.”
