New scholars join the Under-18s

Aston Villa is pleased to announce the latest intake of scholars to join the Academy’s Under-18 squad.

Jack Allan

Jack is a goalkeeper who joined the club from Portsmouth in his Under-16 year. He has a good presence, is technically good, and he is efficient and calm in possession of the ball with a real desire to improve.

Jacob Green

Jacob joined Villa in his Under-15 year and is a local boy, who plays right-back. He has good technical and athletic ability, and attacks and defends well in 1v1 situations.

Junior Wilson

Junior has been with the Academy for a couple of years and is a very competitive central defender who is prepared to put his body on the line. He is quick and athletic and can score goals from set pieces.

Teddie Bloomfield

Teddie joined the club from Ipswich Town a couple of years ago and is a very attack-minded left-back who loves to get forward, creating and scoring a number of goals last season.

Woody Burgess

Woody is central midfield player who can play as holding or box-to-box midfielder. He is a competitive player and also played some games for the Under-18s last season. He joined Villa a few years back from Cheltenham Town.

Alfie Lynskey

Alfie is a local lad, who has been at the Academy for a long time. He is a very good ball manager who can play in a variety of positions in the midfield area. He has the ability to create goals and has a real desire on the pitch to dominate the game.

Keilan Quinn

Keilan joined the Academy earlier in the year from West Bromwich Albion. He played a number of games for the Under-18s last season, and he has the ability to play in different positions in the central midfield area and has very good technical qualities.

Cole Ramsey

Cole is a local boy who has been with us a very long time and he is a creative forward-thinking player who has good technical ability and loves to go forward, he also has a real desire to do well.

Max Jenner

Max has represented England at Under-16 level and has recently joined the club from West Bromwich Albion. He is able to play in a number of attacking positions and is an effective creative player with good ball-management skills.

Bradley Burrowes

Brad is an attacking, quick, dynamic player who played a number of times for the Under-18s last season. He is effective at running in behind and is a real threat in the final third. He joined Villa a few years ago from Bristol Rovers.

Elijah Briscoe

Elijah is a centre forward who has been with the club for a very long time and is a local lad. Elijah is a powerful player who has the capability to score goals and can be a real handful for defenders.

Rodrigo Fortes

Rodrigo has been at the Academy for many years. He can play down the left side in several positions. He is a very good athlete, with good technical skills and a creative mind. He played a lot of games for the Under-18s last season mainly at left back and coped with it very well.

Vinnie Hayward

Vinnie is a creative player who can play in a variety of positions in the attacking areas. He has a very good passing range and an ability to deliver a final pass or cross. He is a local lad who joined the club a number of years ago.

Congratulations to all of the players and their families on signing their scholarship forms and joining us on a full-time basis, we look forward to seeing how they all develop over the next few years.
