kicker reports that VfB Stuttgart are well on their way to trying to find a replacement for Borussia Dortmund-bound striker Sehrou Guirassy.
Stuttgart have already held talks with potential targets to replace Guirassy. Recently, VfB has been linked to Augsburg striker Ermedin Demirovic, but the demands from Augsburg, which are said to be around €25m are currently too much for Stuttgart. The Bosnian is interested in moving to the MHP Arena.
An alternative is RB Leipzig’s André Silva. Stuttgart inquired about the striker, and although a €12m transfer fee is feasible, the Portuguese striker’s salary is said to be around €6m a year, which is too much for Stuttgart and would ruin their wage structure.
However, it is not only upfront that Stuttgart have to be wary about. They could still lose Chris Führich and potentially even Silas. Führich has a release clause worth €22m, while Silas has attracted interest from the Premier League previously.
If one of the pair leaves, Stuttgart views Hoffenheim’s Jacob Bruun Larsen as a potential candidate to replace them. Larsen has played under head coach Sebastian Hoeneß at Hoffenheim but spent last season on loan at Burnley. However, Stuttgart would likely face competition with Fulham, West Ham and Crystal Palace.
