Bayern Munich’s impressive opening bid of €35m for Stade Rennais starlet Désiré Doué has been rejected, according to Kicker.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder isn’t just attracting interest from the Bavarian club. As reported by GFFN, the youngster is being tracked by both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Additionally, Bayern’s initial bid of €35m has fallen considerably short of Rennais’ evaluation of Doué. The Ligue 1 side sold Jérémy Doku to Manchester City for €60m last year. The Breton club believe that, including bonuses, they could achieve a similar fee for Doué.
It’s believed that Bayern will return with an improved offer as interest begins to heighten from other clubs.
Bayern are heading into a massive transfer window as they look to improve their squad and win back the Bundesliga from Bayer Leverkusen.
A product of Rennais’ youth academy, Doué has already played over 75 times for his hometown club scoring 8 and assisting 7 times.
