Interest in RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo to intensify

Interest in RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo is to intensify after he helped Spain win an historical fourth European Championship title.

As reported by Bild, the attacking midfielder has attracted interest from Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and FC Barcelona.

Olmo has a release clause of €60m in his contract which is valid until the end of July.

Considering the tournament he’s just had with Spain, the €60m pierce tag looks increasingly enticing.

Olmo scored three times and assisted twice at Euro 2024 as Spain went on to win the tournament against England in the final.

The €60m estimated plus around €10m in yearly salary might be too much for Barcelona who have restricted funds right now.

It’s likely that, should Olmo leave Leipzig, he will go to either England or Bavaria.

However staying at Leipzig is not ruled out, when asked about Olmo’s future, sporting director Rouven Schröder said: “Dani is now stable, which makes us totally happy. He feels comfortable and also knows what he has in us. And if he continues to play so consistently, then offers will come in. That’s so, then there is also a balancing process with all parties involved.”

Olmo started the season off strongly with a hat-trick in the DFL Super Cup vs Bayern Munich as well as goals against Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart in the opening games of the campaign but injury quickly rerailed this form and the 26-year-old has struggled to replicate it ever since due to the constant on and off nature of his season.
