Katie Robinson is looking forward to a bright future with Aston Villa Women after sealing her move to the club.

The 21-year-old arrives in the Midlands, subject to FA approval, after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion, where she won five England caps after impressing in the Women’s Super League.

The influence of new manager Robert de Pauw was a factor in Robinson’s decision, and she now hopes for a successful stint in claret and blue.

“It feels amazing,” she said.

“I’m excited to join the club and I’m looking forward to the future.”

Robinson added: “After speaking with Robert it went really well and I was excited by his visions for the club.

“It really made me want to be part of it. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve.

“I’ve had some really good experiences so far but hopefully I can kick on and keep developing my game.”

Robinson began her career at Bristol City before racking up over 50 games for Brighton.

A debut for the Lionesses came her way in November 2022 and she was subsequently named in England’s squad for the Arnold Clark Cup and 2023 World Cup.

Robinson, a skilful wide player, feels Villa is the perfect place to take the next step of her career.

“It’s a great club with great facilities and great backing. I know a lot of the girls here, so I’m excited to play alongside them and not against them,” she said.

“I’m a direct winger who’s pacy and isn’t afraid to go 1v1 against players and show my creativity in the final third.

“I want to get minutes under my belt and contribute goals and assists to the team as much as possible.”
