After returning from a loan spell at Royal Antwerp, Soumaïla Coulibaly’s (20) future lies away from Borussia Dortmund.

The French central-defender wants playing time, but finds himself behind Nico Schlotterbeck, Niklas Süle, Waldemar Anton and youngster Filippo Mane in the battle for a starting place in Dortmund’s starting lineup and so, there appears to be no place for Coulibaly.

The 20-year-old started in Dortmund’s 7-1 win against DEW21 dream team, but was at fault for the goal. Substituted at half-time, Ruhr Nachrichten report that Coulibaly is currently feeling the aftereffects and is training individually, but should play against Aue on Wednesday, if the player is fit enough.

However, despite a contract until 2026, Coulibaly’s future lies away from Dortmund. As further reported by RN, Coulibaly is planning to leave the club and has aroused interest from England, Spain, Italy and France. Last season, the defender almost joined then Premier League side Burnley, before joining Royal Antwerp on loan, where he played 30 games in the Belgian Pro League and Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund won’t put any obstacles in the way of Coulibaly’s departure, but would ideally like to receive a fee in the double-digit million range, which would see a return on investment after the Frenchman joined the club when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires in 2021.
