Manchester United refuse to match Bayern Munich’s valuation of Matthijs de Ligt

According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are refusing to match Bayern Munich’s valuation of Matthijs de Ligt.

It had previously been reported that the Premier League outfit were closing in on the signing of the Bayern centre-back. However, it appears as though the Red Devils could now be ready to move on from de Ligt.

It is understood that United are unwilling to meet Der Rekordmeister’s demand of €50 million plus add-ons for the Dutch defender. This has, therefore, prevented the Premier League side from submitting an official offer for the 24-year-old.

Instead, United have prioritised the signing of former Bayern target Leny Yoro from Lille. The Frenchman is set to undergo a medical with the Red Devils before signing a five-year deal at Old Trafford with the option to extend for an additional season.

Should United decide to walk away from the de Ligt transfer, Der Rekordmeister would be left in a difficult situation. Thus far, United have been the only side to show significant interest in the Dutchman, meaning that Bayern may have to look towards lowering their valuation of de Ligt in an attempt to offload him this summer.
