Celta Vigo have been searching for a replacement for Jorgen Strand Larsen in recent weeks, following the Norwegian's move to Premier League side Wolves. Throughout the process, their main target has been Real Betis' Borja Iglesias, and it now looks like they are on course to secure his signature.

Iglesias is doing pre-season training with Betis, but is not in Manuel Pellegrini's plans for the coming season. Celta was pushed to sign him, and he prioritizes a move to Balaidos, although they faced strong competition from Rayo Vallecano and clubs in the Bundesliga.

Fortunately for Celta, they have now reached an agreement with Betis. AS Diary have reported that the 31-year-old striker will sign on loan, with medical tests to be completed over the weekend.

Iglesias first on the books to Celtic between 2013 and 2017, although he only made two appearances for the first team. On paper, he is a welcome addition to Claudio Giraldez's squad, and if he can recapture his best form, everyone is a winner.
