Fortuna Düsseldorf reveals the 4 games to be made free this season

Fortuna Düsseldorf has revealed the four games that will be free to fans through their ‘Fortuna Für Alle’ scheme for this upcoming season.

The four games that will be available to fans with be Hamburg (Matchday 8),  Elversberg (MD 13), Darmstadt (MD18), and Preußen Münster (MD 28). 

Düsseldorf have also revealed the numbers behind the first season under this scheme which the club is deeming as successful. The programme has helped promote social commitment and grassroots football in the Düsseldorf area, while it has also seen a boost in the number of returning fans. 

Since the introduction of the scheme, Düssledorf has seen a 19% increase in season ticket sales for this season, there was also a 28% increase in the overall ticketing revenue throughout last season despite only three games being made free. 70% of new attendees to the Merkur Spiel Arena want to return to see another game. There were also increases in sponsorship and merchandising. 

Düsseldorf has seen a 20% increase in members taking their tally to over 33,000 members.   

Last season Düsseldorf were so close to gaining promotion to the Bundesliga but threw away a three-goal lead in the relegation playoff against Bochum to lose on penalties.
