Barcelona are on standby over a possible summer move for the Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.
The Blaugrana are long-term admirers of the Germany international despite his apparent commitment to Bavaria.
However, the general picture has changed in recent months, Kimmich is not convinced about a contract extension beyond 2025.
With his current deal expiring next summer, Bayern Munich are working on a renewal but their versatile star has so far remained uncommitted.
After the last 12 months of his agreement, Kimmich can openly discuss a free transfer with a non-German club at the beginning of 20525, and Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl is no longer clear about the their next step.
“He has one year left on his contract with us. We have decided to postpone any discussion until he returns from his vacation,” as quoted by AS Diary.
If Bayern are unable to agree a renewal package, they are likely to make a pitch to sell Kimmich to a rival, but his current asking price of €50 million is outside of Barcelona's transfer budget.
