Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been “in contact” over a deal to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer, according to transfer journalist Fabricius Romano.

Having enjoyed a stellar campaign in the Premier league Last season, the 26-year-old attracted the attention of some of the top echelons of English clubs.

After an impressive domestic campaign, Eze was called up to play for England in the European Championships and helped his team reach the final of this competition before losing to Spain.

Writing in the Daily report, Roman has reported that Tottenham are very interested in signing Eze and have been 'in contact' with the player's representatives since February.

However, the journalist assures that the Spurs have not yet presented a formal proposal and it remains to be seen whether they finally do so in the coming days.

From Eze to Tottenham

Roman state Manchester City The English club were considering signing him last summer, but it is unclear whether they will revive their interest in this transfer window. Therefore, if they ultimately do not do so, the Lilywhites could have a clear path to secure his signature.

Romano wrote:

“Manchester City already had Eze on their list last summer, while Tottenham have been in contact with their agents since February. The interest is still there, but, I repeat, there have been no offers yet.”

Eze reportedly has a £60m buyout clause Therefore, with his current contract, Tottenham will have to spend a lot of money to sign the Englishman this summer.

Eze is a technically gifted player, capable of playing in multiple positions on the pitch. He likes to play in the attacking midfield position, but is also efficient in the left wing position. He has already proven his worth in the Premier League, so it would be a huge coup for Tottenham if they sign him.

However, having sold Michael Olise, Crystal Palace could be desperate to keep hold of Eze as they would not want to lose two of their key players in this window.

So it will be interesting to see if the north London club can finally secure his signature before the end of this window to bolster their attacking department.
