Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Filip Jorgensen and Enzo Maresca wants him to join the pre-season tour of the United States immediately

Chelsea have agreed a £20.7m fee with Villarreal to sign goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, talkSPORT understands.

The Blues and the Danish Under-21 international have a verbal agreement for a six-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.

Jorgensen will undergo a medical in the United States, where Chelsea are currently on their pre-season tour.

New boss Enzo Maresca wants the 22-year-old to join the group immediately after signing and could appear at the end of the tour.

If all goes to plan, Jorgensen could become Chelsea's seventh new arrival this summer, as talkSPORT understands they are also set to sign defender Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors.

The west London outfit have already made notable signings in Tosin Adarabioyo and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Renato Veiga and Caleb Wiley have also been confirmed as new arrivals for the new season.

Jorgensen will be the fourth goalkeeper to sign for Chelsea since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital completed their acquisition in 2022.

After making 44 appearances for Villarreal, he will join Gabriel Slonina, Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea also have Kepa Arrizabalaga in their squad after his loan spell at Real Madrid, although there are reports linking him with an exit.

Marcus Bettinelli, Lucas Bergstrom and Eddie Beach are three other goalkeepers listed in the first team on the club's website.

The Blues are already well underway on their pre-season schedule after They drew 2-2 with Wrexham during the week.

His next test will be on Saturday night. Against Celticwho beat Premier League champions Manchester City 4-3 in their last game.

Club América, City and Real Madrid will be their last rivals in the United States before a friendly against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea could make further signings between now and the start of the season, including potentially more sales following the departures of Ian Maatsen, Omari Hutchinson and Thiago Silva.

Maresca's first competitive game in charge will be against his former club City on August 18.

The following week they will play the first leg of the Europa Conference League play-off, although the draw has not yet been made.
