Real Sociedade have been chasing a new striker for weeks, with manager Imanol Alguacil unhappy with their current options of Sheraldo Becker, Umar Sadiq and Carlos Fernandez. Their main target is Borja Mayoral, for whom they have now agreed an agreement with Getafe.

That was reported by News from Gipuzkoa, even if the operation is currently stopped. Real and Getafe have agreed a swap deal involving Mayoral and Sadiq, which will also see Txuri-Urdin pay an unspecified fee. However, the latter is not convinced by a move to the Coliseum, despite the insistence of Getafe manager Jose Bordalas.

Real are keen to move Sadiq this summer, as he has no place in Alguacil's plans. A move to Getafe would present him with the opportunity to play regular football, but for now, he is not interested.

However, the report claims that Real Sociedad expect to conclude a deal for Mayoral soon, regardless of whether Sadiq is included in a deal for now. Certainly they have money to spend, after the sale of Robin Le Normand to Atletico Madrid, and Mikel Merino's upcoming move to Arsenal.
