According to Sky Germany, RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo has verbally agreed to join Barcelona.
It has previously been reported that Barcelona are interested in signing Olmo this summer. However, their opening bid to sign the 26-year-old was quickly rejected by Leipzig due to its rather insulting financial structure.
Nevertheless, Barcelona have not given up hope of signing the Spaniard, as he is considered the dream transfer by club President Joan Laporta, sporting director Deco, and head coach Hansi Flick.
With Olmo giving the green light for the deal to go ahead, it is just down to both clubs to agree on an appropriate transfer structure.
It has been made clear to the Spanish giants that Leipzig will demand €60 million plus future add-ons for Olmo, but there are still question marks on whether this is possible for Barcelona to match.
Despite this, Barca’s deal to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club is currently on hold in order to get a deal for Olmo over the line. Therefore, there is certainly confidence in the Barcelona camp that a deal to sign Olmo will be made.
