Ezri Konsa has been ruled out for around 3-4 weeks ahead of Aston Villa’s FA Cup fourth-round replay against Chelsea.
The influential defender sustained a knee injury during the second half of Saturday’s 5-0 Premier League victory at Sheffield United.
Fellow defender Pau Torres will return to the bench for the cup clash against Chelsea at Villa Park, although Lucas Digne and Jhon Durán remain unavailable.
They join long-term absentees Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendía on the sidelines.
“Ezri is injured,” said head coach Unai Emery at Tuesday’s pre-match media conference.
“He has a knee sprain and is not going to be available. I don’t know, three or four weeks more or less.
“Lucas Digne is progressing very well but he is not available tomorrow.
“Pau Torres has started training with the group and he is going to be on the bench tomorrow. But Jhon Durán is still injured.”
