Captain of Barcelona Sergi Roberto he is no longer in the club, despite the Catalan side not announcing his departure. The 32-year-old is a free agent, but remains in the city.
Roberto is said to have agreed a new deal with Barcelona to extend his contract for next season, but with the arrival of Hansi Flick, the Blaugrana have decided not to do anything until they know they can sign all their other players. Sport note that Roberto has been training individually, and doing so at Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva training camp, albeit with the Nike kit instead of the Barcelona kit.

Meanwhile, the likes of Pedri, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres have also returned from their holidays after Euro 2024 to undergo medical tests, and then also start pre-season training. They will be joined by the rest of the team later this week when their US tour ends.
Recent reports have stated that Roberto has offers from Italy and the Netherlands, but has yet to accept any of them, or indeed make a decision on his future. There has always been the suggestion that he might end up returning Barcelona, but as time goes on, it seems increasingly unlikely. Marc Bernal and Marc Casado's impressive preseason performances won't help their case either.
