Stuttgart target Deniz Undav sends a frustrated response to Brighton

Over the course of the summer transfer window, it has been well documented that Stuttgart are hopeful of securing Deniz Undav on a permanent transfer.

After a successful loan spell at the club last season, the Brighton & Hove Albion striker scored 19 goals and registered ten assists, helping fire Stuttgart back into the Champions League.

Nevertheless, the Seagulls have since rejected Stuttgart’s approaches for the German international.

It is understood that should Die Roten look to lure Undav away from the Premier League, then they would have put together a €50 million package.

However, this does not fit into Stuttgart’s financial plan, and they have, therefore, had to begin considering other targets.

This has frustrated Undav, who has emphasised his desire to return to MHP Arena, and in a recent interview with professional boxer Agit Kabayel on YouTube (via Florian Plettenberg), the 28-year-old offered an angry response to his parent club:

“Nothing came from Brighton for a year. I never really received appreciation over the year I was away from Brighton, nor did anyone care about me.”

“Currently, it seems like both clubs are negotiating every day. If the transfer doesn’t happen, it would be bitter and unfortunate, because I want to be here in Stuttgart. But then I just have to go back.”

As it stands, it appears unlikely that Undav will return to Stuttgart, but if he continues to voice his displeasure towards Brighton, then the Seagulls may face no other option than to accept his wishes.
