Stuttgarter Nachrichten reports that VfB Stuttgart and Brighton have re-entered into negotiations for Deniz Undav and a deal now looks possible.
The Premier League side have now changed their stance which saw them originally rejecting an offer worth €30m from VfB. The Seagulls are now willing to accept an offer worth around €30m and the two parties are in negotiations over potential add-ons.
Recently, Undav has voiced his displeasure at Brighton’s stance on a move away from the South of England for the striker. In a recent interview, the 28-year-old said:
“Nothing came from Brighton for a year. I never really received appreciation over the year I was away from Brighton, nor did anyone care about me.”
“Currently, it seems like both clubs are negotiating every day. If the transfer doesn’t happen, it would be bitter and unfortunate, because I want to be here in Stuttgart. But then I just have to go back.”
It seemed that Stuttgart had accepted that they would not get their man as they began to look at other options ahead of their return to the Champions League, including former Union Berlin loanee David Datro Fofana, but it looks increasingly likely that VfB will finally get their man.
