West Ham have announced the signing of striker Niclas Fullkrug for £27m from Borussia Dortmund.

The 31-year-old arrived in east London on a four-year contract after shining at Germany in Euro 2024scoring two goals in five appearances.

Fullkrug has spent his entire career in German football having played for Werder Bremen, Greuther Furth, 1. FC Nurnberg, Hannover 96 and Dortmund.

However, he is now set for Premier League action in the 2024/25 campaign, where he has become West HamThe fifth signing of the summer.

Speaking on his arrival at West Ham websiteHe said: “I'm delighted to be here and can't wait to get out on the pitch with my new team-mates.

“I think the Premier League is the best league in the world and for me it is the right time to move to England and play for a big club like West Ham.

“I have been thinking about West Ham for a long time. I know the manager Tim Steidten very well, because we have a history together at Werder Bremen, and I have seen some games and seen how much quality there is in the team.

“The opportunity to play with the coach (Lopetegui) is also really exciting.

“His style of play is important to me and I'm confident that with him I'll be able to perform at my best and score a lot of goals.

“I love being around the fans and I’m really looking forward to meeting the West Ham fans.

“I feel really good at the moment, I'm strong, fit and in shape, and I just want to get out there and start playing for them.”

When talking about the Euro 2024 stars he would like to see play in the Premier League, revealed his admiration for West Ham's new striker.

“I have no doubt he would score goals in the top flight in England. I like him.”

“I don't like to use the term 'old-fashioned centre-forward', but he is a real centre-forward.

“He gets people into the game, he can play behind, he's powerful, he attacks inside the box. I think he would be a fantastic signing for someone.”

Fullkrug scored 15 goals in 43 appearances for Dortmund last season and has made 21 appearances for Germany, scoring 13 goals.

He becomes West Ham's latest signing under new manager Julen Lopetegui, with Crysencio Summerville signing from Leeds at the weekend.

Fellow winger Luis Guilherme was the first to come in from Palmeiras before goalkeeper Wes Foderingham joined on a free transfer and centre-back Max Kilman signed from Wolves.

West Ham's spending so far this summer now stands at around £115m and this could rise.

talkSPORT understands the Hammers are still in talks with Manchester United over right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford.

And they are also about to announce the arrival of midfielder Guido Rodríguez on a free transfer.
