Real Madrid they have made it their business to be in the race for the most talented teenagers in the world, as evidenced by their signing of Endrick Felipe and the pursuit of Leny Yoro. Next in line is the 16-year-old starlet from River Plate Franco Mastantuono.
The Blancos have been closely linked with Mastantuono for some time, and they have not only sealed the approval of the player, but the personal terms with him. Despite reports that they had made a €25 million bid for Mastantuono last month, however, The Athletic say that Real Madrid did not make any offer for him.
Mastantuono has a €45m release clause, and his current River deal expires at the end of 2026, meaning the Argentine giants are likely to be keen to complete a sale within the next 12 months. Real Madrid has also made it their policy not to immediately pay even the release clauses, and will probably try to negotiate for him.
