Barcelona accuse Athletic Club of forcing Nico Williams to record return video – report

Earlier this week, Nico Williams has returned to training with Athletic Club – this has all but confirmed that he will not leave Bilbao this summer, much to the disappointment of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona seems to have already moved away from Williams, since they are approaching the signature of Dani Olmo. However, some at the club are still hoping that a deal can be arranged for the 22-year-old winger.

Interestingly, TV3 they reported that those of Can Barca believe that Williams was forced to record the video that showed the return to training, and thus ends any doubt that he leaves Athletic this summer. Thus, there is a belief from inside the club that the player did not want to record the footage.

It's a rather strange stance from those who are Barcelonaif it is really true. There are many reasons that Williams wanted to stay put Athletic Club, so there is no shame in missing out on him this summer. They can return in 2025, as long as a new contract, with a greatly increased release clause, is not signed.
