As if he hadn't already done week in week out for Valencia, Giorgi Mamardashvili has also increased interest in his services this summer with an excellent display for Georgia at Euro 2024. The Premier League looks more likely to be their destination.
Newcastle United was one of the sides most closely linked with Mamardashvili, but could not agree to a move. Saudi Arabia had also expressed an interest in him, but the 23-year-old goalkeeper decided he only wanted to move to a big club.
It might not be now, though. Recently, it was suggested that Liverpool could sign Mamardashvili and then loan him, as a possible replacement for Alisson Becker, an offer made to them by Los Che. Fabrizio Romano revealed what you do Mamardashvili he is attracted by the opportunity, and would be open to that formula. His information is now that Liverpool know they can complete a deal for around 30 million euros for Mamardashvili and it is up to them to decide whether to go ahead with the deal.
At the age of 31, Liverpool would hope they still have many more years of production out of Alisson. The Brazil international still has three years left on his deal, meaning he is unlikely to lose him anytime soon. On a purely financial basis, it would make sense to sell Alisson next summer, depending on what kind of fee they feel they can get for him, and then have Mamardashvili in place as a replacement. All the same, it would be understandable if they wanted to stay with the Brazilian.
