According to Florian Plettenberg, Crystal Palace are now showing concrete interest in signing Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix.

It had previously been reported that the Premier League outfit had yet to enter talks with Wolfsburg regarding a possible move for the French defender.

Nevertheless, with Marc Guéhi set to depart Selhurst Park this summer, the Eagles have initiated talks with Die Wölfe about luring Lacroix away from the club as the Englishman’s successor.

As well as this, it is understood that the 24-year-old has already spoken to Oliver Glasner over the phone, with the Frenchman stating that he would be interested in leaving the Volkswagen Arena before the end of the transfer window.

Wolfsburg are aware that they could lose Lacroix and would be willing to allow him to leave should they be able to make a deal with Liverpool to bring former Mainz and Schalke centre-back Sepp van den Berg to the club.
