kicker reports that Hoffenheim are continuing to work on improving their centre-back options heading into the new season.
Hoffenheim looks set to already complete the signing of Oumar Solet from Red Bull Salzburg this summer, fending off Premier League interest in the French defender. But they will not stop there.
TSG are also said to be interested in Augsburg defender Felix Uduokhai, who is attracting interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 26-year-old is up for sale at the club as his contract expires next summer and Augsburg wants to receive a fee for him before he can leave on a free.
Another option was Liverpool’s Sepp van den Berg, who is valued by the club at around €20-25m. However, this valuation is outside of Hoffenheim’s price range, despite the club set to receive €30m from a transfer of Maximilian Beier.
In their final pre-season game, Hoffenheim had to improvise in a three-man defence and play midfielders Anton Stach and Florian Grillitsch alongside Kevin Akpoguma against Fulham.
