And it looks like they've been busy making some changes, and one of the key differences will be on the touchline for the substitutes.

With teams now allowed to make five substitutions per game, the Premier League will increase the number of players allowed to warm up at any one time.

Starting this campaign, FIVE players will be able to take their tests on the sidelines instead of the usual three.

This change has been made to correspond with the fact that five substitutions can also be made.

This might lead to some busy touchlines, but it will help keep more players fresh if the game comes their way.

This addition is one of three rule changes being implemented.

The others are an updated multiball system and a change to the way added time is calculated.

Ball assistants on the side of the pitch are now allowed to return the ball to a goalkeeper before a goal kick, with the aim of speeding up the pace of a game.

And as far as the change to added time is concerned, Premier League referees will now only start adding time 30 seconds after a goal.

This means that 30 seconds will be given for teams to return to their playing positions before the next time is added at the end of a match.

The league has stated that this is likely to result in less injury time for each match.
