Barcelona are looking to shorten their squad in the coming weeks before the end of the transfer window, in no small part because of their wage cap struggles. Two of the typical names to leave are Clement Lenglet and Michael Fayewith the Blaugrana currently eight central defenders.
Faye has been linked with Porto, who are offering €6m plus a sell-on fee, while Rennes have made an offer reaching €10-12m plus a 20-25% sell-on fee. Barcelona held out for at least 15 million euros plus a sales tax, or a buyback clause. Real Betis and Real Sociedade have made approaches on a simple loan deal, but Barcelona are currently not considering loan offers.
Barcelona are working to sign Iñigo Martínez before the Valencia game. It is a priority for Flick. @alexpintanel

Inter are the latest parties to show interest in Faye, Sport saying that the Nerazzurri have inquired about the 20-year-old. They would be willing to reach the asking price of 15 million euros, but that would include variables, and on a loan deal with the obligation to buy.
They can meet Barcelona's demands, but only if they are able to pay in 2025, which does not help Barcelona's immediate salary problems. It seems almost certain that Faye will leave Barcelona, after receiving little playing time on their pre-season tour to the USA. He had the misfortune of playing in one of the two positions where Barcelona has significant depth.
