Liverpool agree to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili

Liverpool They have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Valencia star Giorgi Mamardashvili to sign him this summer, according to the transfer expert Fabricius Romano.

The 23-year-old moved to the Mestalla Stadium from Dinamo Tbilisi on an initial loan deal in 2021 before making the switch permanent the following year.

The Georgian initially joined the Spanish side's reserve team, but was already involved with the first team during pre-season ahead of the 2021/22 season. After impressing then-coach José Bordalás in training, he was given the chance to start in the first La Liga match.

So, it seems that after being impressed by Mamardashvili's recent performances for club and country, Liverpool have shown interest in signing him.

The journalist also says that Bournemouth are willing to sign him on loan and that the player's agent is currently in Valencia to finalise Mamardashvili's transfer to Liverpool, but an agreement has not yet been reached.

“Liverpool have reached a personal agreement with Giorgi Mamardashvili. They are interested in signing him, although he will spend one or two years on loan at another club. Bournemouth are open to signing him, and he would then become LFC’s new goalkeeper after Alisson. Agents are now in Valencia for talks with the club. There is no agreement yet.”

Mamardashvili, standing at 1.98m, is an excellent goalkeeper and efficient in the air, but there are some doubts about whether he has the qualities with the ball at his feet to play out from the back.
