“What were you doing?” – Roy Keane criticises Gary Neville for his DJ debut on Kendal Calling
Roy Keane has criticised Gary Neville for DJing Kendal Calling alongside The Charlatans' Tim Burgess.
He Manchester United The legend teamed up with the Charlatans frontman behind the decks at the Cumbria festival, and even brought out his old footballing skills.
As they played The Courteeners' “Not Nineteen Forever,” a beach ball rolled onto the stage and the Salford co-owner picked it up and threw it into the raucous crowd.
Neville seemed to be enjoying life as he roamed the decks, doing a little daddy dance on stage.
When he returned to The Overlap, his new DJ skills took top place on the agenda.
“I went to my first festival, Kendal Calling,” she said. “I was actually dreading it, but I enjoyed it.”
Jill Scott asked him if he was actually DJing and Neville replied: “I just pressed play a couple of times. Tim (Burgess) lined up the songs and I just pressed play.
“I had a great time.”
Unsurprisingly, his former Manchester United teammate Keane would have none of it.
He said: “Gary wants to attract young people. What were you doing there?”
“What were you doing on stage?”
Neville replied: “So Tim Burgess from The Charlatans…”

Keane said: “I don’t care who it is.
“Why are you going on stage? Do you think people who bought a ticket want to see you on stage?”
Neville: “Roy, did you see the crowd? It was amazing. It was the best crowd I’ve ever played in front of.”
It's a big career change as he was used to playing in front of 70,000 people at Old Trafford and being a cornerstone of Mr Alex FergusonUnited, a team that conquers everything.
He made 602 appearances for the Red Devils and never played for anyone else and after retiring in 2011 he became a multi-millionaire, turned property tycoon and is a prominent presenter on Sky Sports.
