Meanwhile Sport report that Galatasaray would be interested in Gundogan, but only on a free. The veteran wants to play in Turkey at some point, but he didn't intend to do it so soon. In Saudi Arabia, the same source refers to a report from 365scores in Arabic which says that there has been contact between Barcelona and the Saudi giants Al-Nassr for a potential deal, which Gundogan is also in the green light. In recent days, it has been suggested that Gundogan would like to return to Manchester City, where he was captain until last summer.
While Gundogan has agreed to leave Barcelona, he has yet to find an offer that attracts him, and clearly it is a requirement for any departure. Meanwhile Barcelona are hoping they can sign Dani Olmo with the money saved from Gundogan's contract, and have a meeting scheduled with La Liga this week to clarify where they stand with their salary cap.
Less than 48 hours before the news, manager Hansi Flick said he had discussed Gundogan's future and role in the team last week. The German coach noted that he expects his compatriot to stay, but based on reports, it appears that not everyone at the club is on the same page.
